Unexpected Delivery on Duty
What began as a routine fender bender turned into the most unforgettable moment of my career. Just as I was debating lunch options, a scream shattered the calm. We rushed to a sedan where a young woman was in labor—crowning, terrified, and out of time. With no medical help yet on scene, I delivered the baby right there in the car. Moments later, the newborn cried, healthy and strong. Relief and gratitude filled the air. As the ambulance arrived, my partner joked, “Beats a soggy sandwich, huh?” It did. That day, life literally arrived in our hands.
