Rescued Bear Cub Makes Remarkable Recovery
A severely malnourished and sick black bear cub found in El Dorado County, California, has made an incredible transformation. Rescued by Gold Country Wildlife Rescue in December 2024, the cub was dehydrated, anemic, and nearly hairless. With dedicated care, he slowly regained strength and fur, revealing his playful, wild nature. By May 2025, the once-suffering cub had become unrecognizable. The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has decided he’ll live in a sanctuary rather than return to the wild.
